Family Campout

The kiddos had off school for Rodeo Break, and even though we never go to the Rodeo we are always excited to play and be together. This year one of the big things we did was go camping. It was a blast. We went to Madera Canyon and enjoyed a hike, and tried our hand at the dutch oven (note: don't leave the dutch oven too close to the fire as it will drastically affect cooking time and temp.) We had some well-done cobbler! Hey, isn't life all about learning, we won't do that again! We hope to get really good at the dutch oven. Other things we did over break included a swim at a pool in Tucson, a movie night at home with homemade pizza and smoothies, and playing at the Anza Trail Park (the kids current fav) The time together flew by! I look forward to spring break!

Antiqued Magnet Board

The top photo is the only "before" picture I have of the frame. I purchased it for $2 at a thirft store. Brian had metal left over from another project and we put a rust treatment on it. Then we put a clear sealer on. I just spray painted the frame black and then sanded parts to give it a weathered look (can't really see this in the pic.) Yeah! A magnet board that goes with our hacienda and keeps me organized. I use it for my calendar, family rules, chores, cool quotes, pictures and fun seasonal decorations.

1/2 a Marathon

I have never been so proud of myself for completing 1/2 of something :) Brian and I had the pleasure of enjoying a weekend in Sedona and got to run the 1/2 marathon together. Our kids didn't miss us for a second because they were being so spoiled by Grandma Sandy and Grandpa Gary. Grandma Sandy told me upon our departure that I would not even recognize them when I got home because they'd be little monsters :) They had a fabulous time playing at the park, eating happy meals, and pizza, watching a movie at the theater, and getting to spend valentine money at walmart. Thanks for all the fun Grandma and Grandpa! Oh, and Brian and I both got best times, yeah!!!

A Very Sweet Moment

Sweet Hailey wrote me this awesome note the other day and it made me feel so good. I love you so much girl! You are amazing! I love being your Mom! You work so hard at everything you do and are so kind and loving. Your siblings couldn't ask for a better example!

Brian-How did you get to be so AWESOME?

My Best Friend! He's got all sorts of crazy cool talents. I think he can pretty much do whatever he sets his mind to. Not only that, but he is insanely positive and just being around him makes you feel so happy and motivated. He is the most amazing best friend ever! How did I ever get so lucky?
