Easter

I love Easter sunday! I am so thankful for the opportunity to remember my Savior and all He has done for me. I also really enjoying teaching the kids about why we celebrate Easter! We try to make Easter really special with really yummy food and lots of time together as a family. This year our menu for breakfast included: Eggs Au Gratin, English muffins and canadian bacon, hash browns, and empty tomb rolls (rolls with a marshmallow inside dipped in butter and rolled in cinnamon and sugar). It was such a yummy breaky! For dinner we had spiced pork tenderloin, steamed brocoli and mashed potatoes with strawberry cream-puff cake for dessert! Lots of cooking but it was well worth it! Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of the fabulous food!
Since we tried to focus on spiritual stuff today we did all our fun Easter stuff the week before. We made sugar cookies, did a fun Easter Egg Hunt at Grandma's and did Easter Baskets. I love watching the kids find easter eggs. It is so magical for them! This being Bridget's first Easter she could really participate, it was extra fun to watch her. It did not take her long to figure out how to open those little plastic eggs and did she ever love eating the contents! She was in heaven!

New Concrete

We are Landscaping! After four years of work on this hacienda we are so excited to be working on the yard. What a treat! I heard once that your home should be your first vacation spot. Brian and I are striving to make our home a place we just want to be! Working on the yard is like finally getting to lick the frosting off a cake we've been staring at for 4 years! Yum! Brian and Dad and Clayton worked so hard and we have a beautiful slab in our south yard. WAHOO!

Ian's 7

Our sweet Ian turned 7 today! Since daddy had to work today we celebrated with presents and cake yesterday. He really wanted his cousins over so we did presents and cake with them. Ian got some cool army stuff ( a hat, an ammo container and a canteen) and a sweet new bike. Ian's choice of cake was a choclate chip cookie dough ice cream cake with chocolate cake in the bottom, decorated with ninjas! It was delicious! The kids enjoyed playing in the yard and then playing video games. Then today Ian got to choose all our meals since it was his birthday. For breakfast we had crepes with whip cream and cinnamon and sugar. For lunch we had hot dogs and strawberries. For dinner we had Tikka Masala and Naan (it is an Indian dish that Dee introduced us to and it has become one of the kids favorite dinners). Overall, we had a blast celerating for two days. You are such a special boy Ian! Thanks for sharing your sweetness with us!
